Here in the Sacramento area, we had a rather short Autumn season. Summer had over stayed it’s welcome by about a month. Then winter arrived early. I love Fall, so I was a bit bumed by it all. The up side to this is that Fall was jammed packed into a few short weeks – all the colors appeared at one. And it was glorious!
Then the winds blew and the rain came down (thanking the Lord for the much needed rains)…bringing with it all the leaves. The streets and lawns were covered in yellows, reds and oranges. However, before I could grab my camera, the landscaping crew was at work rounding up the leaves before there was any chance of them clogging up the storm drains.
This lead the way into the fifth season of the year…the Christmas season. As it turns out, I think the Christmas season will be longer than our Autumn season was. That’s OK with me, for as much as love the Fall, I love Christmas even more.
Our house now reflects the festivity the season brings as we celebrate our Saviour’s birth. So from our home to yours, I wish you a very Merry Christmas and blessed New Year for 2016. And for those of us in drought stricken areas, I pray 2016 brings us even more rainy days and nights.
