In my last post, I mentioned participating the Scott Kelby’s World Wide Photo Walk for this year. This is something hubby and I have done for the last five or so years. Besides helping out a charity, it’s just plain old fun to spend a couple hours with other photographers doing something we all enjoy.
Our group leader had planned the walk to take in three bridges in Folsom, CA. Two of the bridges are over the American River – a great place to shoot photos. The plan also included walking footpaths down under the bridges. As there was some construction going on, the footpaths were closed to us. No problem, a good excuse to go back when the work is done.
The highlight of crossing these bridges was to get a better view of the river below. I just love to shoot water. It’s just so pretty. And it’s so calming.
After we were done at the bridges, we headed back into town. Having spent the morning mostly looking down at the river, it was nice to start looking up and noticing some of the other sites I enjoying photographing. But I’ll save that for another post.
I went camping once somewhere along the American River, so many years ago that I can't remember the exact location, but it was so beautiful! My 4-year-old son caught his first fish there. Good memories...it's fun to see it again.
ReplyDeleteThere is just something about water, that brings you in!
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful area, Carol, it looks so peaceful. I've never taken part in one of those walks but I would love to.
