Eyes toward the sky

This past week and on through to the end of the coming week we have a series of storms lines up. All the local TV channels are covering the same top story: Storm Watch 2017. Here in California we don’t get the magnitude of storms other parts of the country experience. What we call a storm would just be a rainy day elsewhere. We can get heavy rains at times and the winds might even gust for a good part of the day. Rarely do we have any thunder and lightning.

Yet I find that the changing sky is what captures my attention. Especially when there is a break in the clouds and a little sunshine peeks through. It’s glorious and I’m mindful of the Creator of such beauty. My soul sings. My heart flows with gratitude. My eyes search the changing clouds for any sign of what might be the beginning of the Second Coming of Christ. I am filled with excitement and anticipation.

The sky is the daily bread of the eyes. – Ralph Waldo Emerson

  1. Hi Carol, such a pleasant surprise to see your comment at Sunday Scripture Blessings. We in Ohio have been hearing about the barrage of storms to hit California. Looks like North and on up. My son lived out there for the past few years, but is back in Ohio now for a bit. I did get to visit and what beautiful country you guys are blessed with out there. I wouldn't have come back home if I were younger and hubby would have been abandoned in Ohio as he didn't fly out there with me. haha When there, I love light houses and did get to visit the one at Bodega Bay and took lots of photos. Have you ever been there? Thanks again for visiting my blog.

    1. Thanks Peabea. We seem to get to Bodega Bay at least once a year, but I've not been to the lighthouse yet. Maybe this year...

  2. I also find that I'm captivated by the sky many times each day. And I think, "Is today the day we'll meet Him in the air?" How wonderful that would be!

  3. Hi Carol! There have been storm here in Denmark as well - a storm flood, that has caused that many families must have left their houses, that have been flooded ... The meteorologists say that it was the worst flood in 100 years! The climate and weather changes these days in many places rather fast.
Yet a peaceful sky brings always joy - Lord's mercies and help are new everyday, and he walks before, beside and after us, guiding and protecting in every ind of weather.
    Blessings to your week,
    Nina
